Bankers chair with Arm Rests - Walnut Finish Review

As a carpenter I take pride in my work and therefore was VERY skeptical about this chair. When it arrived and I had to assemble it I noticed the cheap dowels and SHORT screws that had been supplied and therefore decided to use as much wood glue as possible to help. After 1 week of moderate use one of the 5 feet broke, I therefore replaced the 3/4" (YES 3/4") screws with 2-1/2" screws and washers to eliminate future problems (predrilled all holes of course). Then the next day both dowels in one arm broke. I have since replaced with hardwood dowels (redrilling the balsa wood dowels out and gluing).

The chair is no longer used for sitting as the cheap hardwood has cracked throughout. We use it in the garage when someone visits me while I am working they can sit for a few minutes... at their OWN RISK!
