I bought this for my 80 year-old mother, so she could sit while she does kitchen chores.The stool is light-weight enough for her to move and provides a comfortable seat.
There are two drawbacks: the step part of the stool doesn't come out quite far enough, giving the feeling of instability. Also, I assumed the entire unit folded for storage, but this is not the case. Only the steps fold in.
Both of the above are minor drawbacks and I would recomend this item to anyone.
